BOCC discusses where to build additional courtrooms. CDA Press October 14, 2019 at 5:00 am

I would have to agree with Commissioner Leslie Duncan on this one. If you look across the street to the south from the county complex you can see another high-rise going in. Downtown property is at a premium and that is not going to change.

At the recent public budget hearing, Commissioner Fillios said that county government exist for two purposes: First is Public Safety; Second is to be the tax collector.

In regards to public safety, it only makes since that courts, or any other justice related facility, be located near the Sheriff's Office. This would drastically reduce not only costs, but the safety risks and liability vulnerabilities to the county.

Red Flag Laws

Red Flag laws violate the 2nd, 4th, 5th, 9th & 10th Amendments of our Constitution.

Specifically for Idaho the Idaho Constitution (Art. 1, Section 11) prohibits seizure laws & then there’s this: “The Idaho Federal Firearm, Magazine and Register Ban Enforcement Act (2014) “protects Idaho law enforcement officers from being directed, through federal executive orders, agency orders, statutes, laws, rules, or regulations enacted or promulgated on or after the effective date of this act, to violate their oath of office and Idaho citizens.”
